Q. Why should I be concerned about indoor air quality?
A. All the air around us contains pollutants. There are 3 that are of main concern in the indoor environment; Particles, VOC’s, and Microorganisms.

A. Particles are those things that are commonly referred to as dander, dust, pollen, ash, etc.

Q. What are VOC’s?
A. VOC stands for Volatile Organic Chemicals (Gases), and they are emitted by paints, furniture finishes, upholstery coverings, cleaning materials, and like products. VOC's have been linked to a considerable number of respiratory diseases by the EPA.

Q. What do you mean by Microorganisms?
A. The microorganisms that we are referring to are such substances as bacteria, mold, fungi, or viruses.

Q. What are the different types of Air Purification technology available today?
A. There are several different manufacturers; however, most rely on HEPA filtration for their main source of purification. Other may use Ultra Violet (U.V.), Electrostatic (ES) and Ozone Generators.

Q. What is HEPA?
A. HEPA Filtration
HEPA stands for “High Efficiency Particulate Arresting” or “High Efficiency Particulate Air”
A HEPA filter (theoretically) can remove from the air at least 99.97% of dust, pollen, and any airborne particles with a size of 0.3 micrometers (microns). Visible dust that we see in sunlight is about .5 microns.
**Note: A HEPA filter alone does not kill airborne Viruses, Bacteria, Mold, and Fungi

Q. How does the Ultra Violet Light system work?
A. Ultra Violet Light is an energy system. In order to effectively kill microorganisms they must pass within the range of the light-less than 2 inches-and different microorganisms require different exposure speeds, which may require multiple passes by the light. In addition, the bulbs are very fragile and if they become dusty they lose their effectiveness. UV systems do not collect particles and should only be considered auxiliary equipment.

A. Static Electricity is used to charge the particles and they are collected on plates.

Q. What is Ozone Air Purification?
A. Everybody loves the way the air smells after a fresh spring rain. That is Ozone. The oxygen in the atmosphere is a di-oxide molecule; Ozone is a tri-oxide molecule and is very unstable. Because of its instability the extra oxygen atom that is attached to the oxygen molecule will detach and connect to other substances of opposite polarity.

A. Due to its polarity Ozone is very hazardous to humans and pets if they breathe it in confined spaces in concentrated amounts. When using Ozone purification systems it is always recommended to vacate the area before use.

Q. What makes your units so powerful?
A. EMF technology-which stands for Enhanced Media Filtration-is a microorganism “killing field” of (18kV) high voltage electricity. The HEPA filter works in combination with EMF technology. This unique arrangement of technology was initially developed for the U.S. Military to combat germ warfare.

Q. What is it about EMF technology itself that makes it more effective than an HEPA system by itself?
A. Air is drawn into the units in a 360° area. The air is pushed through 18kV of electricity which achieves a kill rate of up to 100% at .3 microns of particle size and much smaller. If bacteria survive the force field they are then caught in the HEPA filter. This particular HEPA filter is designed and patented by Healthway. The HEPA is also electrified. Any surviving microorganisms from the first stage of destruction are now caught and destroyed in the second stage. In the confines of the HEPA filter our force field breaks through the cell walls of mold, virus, fungi, and bacteria destroying DNA and providing 94-100% kill statistics.

Q. Are the air purification systems offered today regulated by the government?
A. The EPA and the FDA will not regulate Ozone generators due to the fact that they are not recognized as air purification systems. HEPA filters are certified by the FDA.

A. Yes. Our units are FDA certified Class II medical devices*, independent Laboratory tested for verification of microorganism killing capabilities, endorsed by microbiologists and carries national and international patents.

A. Due to EMF technology the HEPA filters in our units need to be replaced only once every 18-24 months. Over the course of a 5 year period the cost of using one of our units vs. other machines is approximately less than ½.
